Hi, I'm Roxi, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I'm a compassionate and approachable human and social services professional with more than thirty (30) years of experience supporting folks with disabilities, including mental health, substance abuse, social difficulties, and people in other special needs populations.
My approach
My approach is to utilize cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and Solution-Focused therapy. My listening skills, education, life experience, and the experiences gained from working with people with life challenges have fully equipped me to assist you in reaching your goals as you determine them to be.
My focus
I've assisted individuals, families, and couples as they navigate through trauma, depression, anxiety, and homelessness to a more functional way of life. I am willing to see individuals, couples, and families.
My communication style
I understand that we are all unique and experience life's challenges in our unique ways. I am respectful in my engagement and meet people where they are, without judgment. I always encourage folks, "have I done the best I could today"? If the answer is yes – be grateful for that experience. If the answer is no, strive for a better tomorrow; keep moving forward.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master of Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from Norfolk State University in May 2014. My thirty plus years of experience supporting people with disabilities and life challenges have equipped me to help others navigate difficult times and reach their goals.
My goals for you
I believe that we carry the change that we seek within us. Let me help you release your yesterday, so you can step into your tomorrow. My goal is to empower you to overcome challenges, grow, and thrive.
