Managing challenges in life can be overwhelming and exhausting, especially in times of change and considering the world's odd circumstances. Whether you are struggling with feeling down or needing to process some of your daily concerns, I'm here to be your person, to help you meet your goals and work towards your personal growth.
My approach
Let's work together to tailor a therapeutic experience specific to your uniqueness! My approach draws from modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based techniques, person-centered therapy, art therapy, play therapy, solution-focused and strength-based approaches, as well as trauma-focused and positive psychology.
My focus
I specialize in working with individuals, including adolescents and teens ages 13-17. The issues I have experience with include adoption, anxiety, coping skills, cultural stress, depression, family conflict, job stress, life coaching, peer relationships, parenting, women's issues, stress, and LGBTQIA+ related concerns.
My communication style
My communication style is culturally sensitive, attachment-based, and feminist-informed. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. Through empathy, active listening and collaborative dialogue, we will explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to mental healthcare began with earning my Masters in Professional Counseling and Masters in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University. I completed my clinical hours for licensure between March 2017 and June 2021, gaining invaluable experience working with diverse populations facing a range of life's challenges.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with the self-awareness, coping strategies and tools you need to navigate life's ups and downs with greater ease and resilience. Together, we will identify and build upon your unique strengths, working towards meaningful, lasting change and improved wellbeing.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and exploring what brings you to therapy at this time. I will ask about your background, current situation, goals and expectations. This is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and get a sense of whether we are a good therapeutic fit. We will begin to formulate a plan tailored to your specific needs.
