My communication style

I'm soft-spoken and calm. I spend most sessions listening rather than giving orders or advice. I help you resolve problems by listening and working to help you understand the root causes of your issues.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a counselor as part of my own healing journey. Therapy provided me with a framework to deal with my problems. I've seen plenty of therapists myself, which helps me understand where clients are coming from and better assist them on their healing journey.

My goals for you

I'll work to establish treatment goals with you in our first session. Your goals are up to you—they generally involve some variation of wanting to feel better. If you have specific goals or directions for treatment, we can discuss those.

Our first session

I begin by asking what's going on. We'll explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope to accomplish. I'll ask about your symptoms, recent changes, past therapy experiences, and day-to-day problems. We'll discuss how you want therapy to proceed—whether you want someone to listen, provide suggestions, or call you out.
