My communication style

I can be casual. Sometimes I swear. I'll show you the story you are telling yourself and help you decide what edits to make so the narrative ends how you want it to. I honor your nervous system, your spirit. Also, I'm a big geek, so bring your nerdy self so I'm not alone in my references! If we can laugh together, then you win therapy. Sarcasm OK.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist because I endured a lot of trauma and had lousy care. I knew I could do better. The therapy training I did was all cognitive CBT, which made me want to barf. So I spent the next 10 years learning "alternative" ways of helping people and helping myself along the way. I enjoy transformation.

Our first session

We will connect about what brings you in. If you require a diagnosis, I will do a formal assessment. I'll learn where you are and tell you how I can help. You'll leave with a plan going forward, even if just a tentative one, so you'll feel more hopeful than when you came in. You'll get to ask all your questions. I'll probably try to make you laugh.
