A native of Charleston, South Carolina. I have provided counseling for the past 35 years (27 years of that in private practice). I graduated from St. Andrews Parish High School and the College of Charleston before receiving my master's degree in clinical counseling from The Citadel.

A mentor once told me, “Nobody cares what you know until they know that you care,” and that has stayed with me throughout my career. It shapes how I show up in every session, with authenticity, presence, and respect for your experience.

My pronouns are (she/her). I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC in 2012. I earned a master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 2019. I am licensed to practice in the states of NC, SC and VA.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in SC, recently retired from 13 years of serving Veterans in and around York. SC. Before this, I worked with a large medical group in ND from 2007-2012. My areas of clinical focus include trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral health issues, including chronic pain. Now I work in private practice.

I believe everyone is doing their best with what they know, and we're all capable of learning healthier ways of being. I work with adults facing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, and challenges managing behaviors and emotions. Establishing a strong therapeutic alliance is key to empowerment and successful outcomes.

I have lived a long and colorful life. I've made good and bad choices. I have 22+ years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. I DO NOT JUDGE, AT ALL, PERIOD. I can be both blunt and gentle as appropriate. My life's work can be summed up in three words: "offering people hope".

I am an independent licensed social worker in clinical practice. My previous work experience has been in mental health in the community and the prison system. I have also worked in a hospice providing grief counseling.
