My approach to therapy is client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused.

I work with people suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, complicated grief, and relationship issues. I also support the LGBTQ+ population around sexual identity, relationships, and coming out. Listening in a caring and empathetic manner helps me develop trusting relationships.

My pronouns are (she/her). I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC in 2012. I earned a master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 2019. I am licensed to practice in the states of NC, SC and VA.

I'm an African American psychotherapist, wife, and mother of two. Overcoming early motherhood at 16 taught me resilience and balance. I provide therapy to individuals of all ages and races, addressing everyday challenges women face and the unique struggles of children and men.

I have lived a long and colorful life. I've made good and bad choices. I have 22+ years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. I DO NOT JUDGE, AT ALL, PERIOD. I can be both blunt and gentle as appropriate. My life's work can be summed up in three words: "offering people hope".

A native of Charleston, South Carolina. I have provided counseling for the past 35 years (27 years of that in private practice). I graduated from St. Andrews Parish High School and the College of Charleston before receiving my master's degree in clinical counseling from The Citadel.
