My therapeutic philosophy begins with cultivating safety and trust. I understand that I am entering your private world, and this is a deep and sacred trust. Whether or not that trust has been violated by others in the past, I will create a sanctuary in which hurts that have created trauma, anxiety, and depression can be explored and understood.

I hold both an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and a CSAC (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor). I take an innovative, outside-the-box approach to therapy, drawing on techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy to help clients achieve their goals.

My goal is to help you feel at ease and able to talk about anything you need to with privacy and support. I'm also very open, nonjudgmental, and open-minded, which allows me to create a safe place for people to talk and be. Our first session is like the interview process on a first date - it will be an opportunity for us to get to know one another

Many of our struggles make more sense when we understand the relationships and life experiences that shaped them. I’m passionate about helping people explore the deeper social and relational roots of their feelings and patterns so they can move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

I’ve been in the human services field since 2000. I have provided services to children and youth, adults, and the elderly in county, inpatient, hospice, community-based, and clinical agencies. I have worked with folks who have an array of issues, including substance use disorders, grief and loss, abuse, trauma, parenting, and family issues.
