My communication style

I take a respectful, professional, and human style. Often I find myself laughing with my clients; it can be incredibly healing. Initially, I'm more directive, as I explore my client's early life experiences. Always, though, I welcome clients to take our sessions where they will.

My journey to mental healthcare

Having survived my own profound losses as a child and then young adult, I've gained the empathy that motivates my work. As a therapy client throughout most of my life, I've learned from the other chair what's helpful and not. I believe we are always able to learn and evolve; that's the path I'm on.

My goals for you

We'll talk during the first session about your goals, and we'll refine and/or change them along the way. It's a team process.

Our first session

I do much of the talking during the first session. Also, it's a time for you to determine if it will be a good match.
