Hi there, I'm Shannon!
I am glad you are here. I entered the Mental Health field in 2006, following 37 years of field research (through lived experience) in a wide variety of settings. Everything from addictions to personal trauma to family violence to marital discord to intergenerational and historical trauma to work/life balance stress.
My focus
I have served the persistently mentally ill population since 2006. However, I also enjoy working with first responders and preventing or ameliorating PTSD. I provide psycho-education, mindfulness, meditation, and teach coping and healing strategies. I can use talk therapy or be more directive with curriculum, worksheets, and educational materials.
My approach
I come from a solution-focused, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness therapeutic lens. I love working with everyone, from individuals with a small amount of stress to first responders, to those with dissociative and personality disorders.
