Hello and welcome. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I mainly work with individuals from an integrative client-centered approach, combining my focus on the client as a unique person and helping build new behavioral and mindfulness skills.
My approach
I often use CBT, DBT-informed, Humanistic/client-centered approaches to support clients. I like to meet clients where they are, improve their functioning, and help their relationship grow with themselves and others.
My focus
I am willing to see individuals who suffer from Anxiety, Codependency, Coping Skills, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Relationship Issues, Self-esteem, Stress, Trauma and PTSD, and Life Transitions.
My communication style
I enjoy getting to know clients and hearing their stories. As clients share about their lives and symptoms, I like to suggest new skills and offer support. Thank you for reading my bio. I hope to speak with you soon about your own possible therapy interests.
My journey to mental healthcare
I completed my clinical hours for licensure from June 2013 to May 2015 at Dave and Margaret Youth and Family Services and Joan Macy NPS school at Dave and Margaret; I also completed hours from August 2014 to May 2017 at West End Family Counseling Services, working with children, adolescents, families, and schools. In 2017, I also enjoyed working at a private practice until striking out on my own. Currently, I enjoy working remotely with clients.
My goals for you
In addition to my training in relationships and helping with areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustments in life, I have specialized training. My goals are to address trauma and adverse life experiences, sometimes assisting clients using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and to manage OCD with Mindfulness and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
My first session with you
The first session is an assessment of your history and what you would like to gain from therapy. At this important first visit, we also want to discuss whether the client and therapist will be a good fit for working together clinically.
