I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker. I am a client-centered therapist that utilizes an array of modalities to help you get to where you want to be. I believe that each individual is the expert in their own life and has the potential to achieve their desired goals so they can feel satisfied, emotionally stable, and balanced. I meet people where they are at and work progressively towards achieving the changes that they want to see. I work with individuals in creating a “toolbox” of coping skills that they can utilize on their day-to-day basis.
My approach
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-centered Therapy, Strength-Based Approach, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
My focus
I have thirteen years of experience working in various community and mental health settings. I have experience working with people from a range of ages, backgrounds, phases of life, and challenges. I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults. I am fluent in both English and Spanish.
My communication style
When communicating with a client, I provide individuals with a non-judgmental space where I am empathetic and offer unconditional positive regard to process their feelings, and life stressors. I help individuals identify their already existing strengths so they can utilize them on their journey.
My goals for you
After the first session, we will set goals that are important for my client. We will work collaboratively at creating these goals and discussing tools and strategies that will help you meet them. These goals are important for the progress of treatment however I ensure that throughout our sessions flexibility is offered. Therefore, creating space not only to address these goals but also allowing space to process and explore other needs that might come up in life for my client.
My first session with you
A first session with me entails a 60-minute Psychosocial Assessment. This assessment will help me learn about my client, presenting problems, and their needs.
