Hello, I'm Cecilia Martinez, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I work with children, adolescents, and adults specializing in depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Care, and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) to support my clients.
My approach
My approach to providing therapy is client-centered and focused on the individual needs of the client. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Resiliency Model are the therapeutic modalities I use the most often, as I've found these the most helpful in working with my clients.
My focus
I work with children, adolescents, and adults and am comfortable with all age groups. Depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders are conditions I've treated.
My communication style
I set the tone of providing a safe space for my clients by conveying genuine understanding. Being empathic has helped my clients feel comfortable, and they can openly share their thoughts and feelings without feeling judged.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to becoming a therapist began many years earlier in high school, and I wanted to help others. I'm driven to do this work for the opportunity to be there and to be able to instill hope and support. It's genuinely fulfilling and an honor when I'm trusted to share the journey with my clients.
My goals for you
My approach to setting goals is working with my client to explore areas they want to work on, starting with building trust and listening.
My first session with you
In the first session with me, the focus is to start building trust and rapport for my client to feel comfortable with sharing how they've been feeling. I'll ask open-ended questions and provide the client opportunity to share, which helps me to learn more about my client and how I can support my client as we begin working together.
