Hi there, I'm Kristy!

My work focuses on helping clients find inner peace and gain understanding of their feelings of discontent, anxiety, or depression. These challenges can manifest in various ways, such as relationship problems, emotional pain, or unhealthy coping mechanisms. I aim to provide a safe, trauma-informed space to explore your concerns and support your path toward greater well-being.

My approach

My approach is to connect with genuine compassion and kindness, while also gently challenging perspectives or beliefs that may be limiting your potential. Together, we will develop healthy coping skills, ways to understand troubled parts of the self, and methods to create a life filled with joy and fulfillment. I will walk beside you on your journey as you gain a more comfortable and rewarding sense of self.

My focus

I work with individuals of all ages, including adolescents and older adults. Some areas of focus include addiction, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, grief, trauma, life transitions, and women's issues. I have experience supporting those facing substance use disorders, personality disorders, thought disorders, and suicidal ideation.

My communication style

My communication style is warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide guidance, tools, and a fresh perspective to help you navigate challenges and uncover your inner resilience. Through active listening and thoughtful questions, we will work together to identify your goals and take steps toward positive change.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was drawn to the field of mental healthcare through my own experiences with personal growth and witnessing the transformative power of therapy in the lives of others. This ignited a passion for supporting people on their paths to healing and self-discovery. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from California State University, Sacramento, which provided a strong foundation in various therapeutic modalities and a deep understanding of the human experience.

My goals for you

My ultimate goal is to empower you with the insights, skills, and self-awareness needed to live a life aligned with your values and aspirations. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and empowerment, where you feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we will work to alleviate distress, build resilience, and cultivate a greater sense of meaning and purpose in your life.

My first session with you

During our first session, we will focus on getting to know one another and exploring what brings you to therapy. I will ask about your background, current challenges, and hopes for our work together. This is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and get a sense of my therapeutic style. We will collaboratively identify your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan to guide our sessions. My aim is to create a comfortable, supportive space where you feel empowered to share your story and begin your journey towards healing and growth.
