Hello, my name is Louis Jumonville. I am a Psychotherapist, Aikido Sensei, and Mantra Meditation teacher who works with adults to help them gain skills to manage troubling thoughts, difficult emotions, painful memories, relationship issues, and unresolved trauma, so they can experience life more fully, create the changes they want, follow their dreams, and enjoy better communication and relationships.
My approach
I provide a warm, supportive environment as I work with clients and help each of them, with their unique set of strengths and challenges, find ways to heal from pain and gain skills in managing their thoughts and emotions. I treat the whole person and utilize somatic processes, movement, and breath. I also specialize in addressing anxiety and depression with mindfulness and mantra meditation.
My focus
I work with individual adults who are dealing with a range of issues, including anxiety, codependency, coping skills, depression, life transitions, mood disorders, relationship issues, self-esteem, spirituality, stress, trauma, and PTSD. I also offer marital and pre-marital counseling.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, supportive, and client-centered. I aim to create a safe space where my clients feel comfortable opening up and exploring their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I take an integrative approach, drawing from various modalities to tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs.
My journey to mental healthcare
For over thirty years, I have been working in the field of therapy in a wide variety of environments, including private practice, as a Child Welfare Emergency Response worker, as a team leader in Outpatient County Mental Health, and as a yoga, meditation, and Aikido teacher. These experiences have shaped my holistic approach to mental health and well-being.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you improve your self-esteem, gain better communication skills, and enhance your relationships and outlook on life. Through our work together, you will develop the tools and insights needed to navigate life's challenges, heal from past wounds, and create the changes you desire.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and explore your goals. I will ask questions to gain a better understanding of your background, experiences, and current situation. This will help me determine how I can best support you on your journey towards improved mental health and well-being. I look forward to meeting you and seeing if we would be a good fit to work together.
