Hello! I'm Leslie Shadrick and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a therapist, I am committed to helping you work towards a place of healing while providing a safe and supportive environment allowing you to process your thoughts and feelings.
My approach
My therapeutic approaches includes Person Centered allowing you to set your course of treatment. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) it's one effective treatment for a variety of concerns and symptoms, including depression, anxiety, and trauma. Solution-focused is also another helpful technique when there are specific problems. It helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing only on problems. It's helpful with sustaining a desired behavioral change. And I know there may be times when you just need a safe space to just talk and process and I'm here for that as well.
My focus
I have worked in the mental health field for over 17 years. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, emerging adults, and adults in a variety of populations such as Elementary and High schools, Group Homes, Correctional Facilities, and Non-Profits. I specialize in racial and sexual identity issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, boundary setting, relationship problems, communication, and self-esteem issues.
My communication style
My communication style is calm and approachable. I like to ensure a comfortable, open, nonjudgmental, and calming environment for clients to feel relaxed and safe.
