Hi there, I'm Leslie!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with over 10 years of experience in individual and family therapy. I have worked with clients with a wide range of experience, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and parenting issues, with experience in Child Trauma, Postpartum, Immigration, and Domestic Violence.

My focus

I work with all ages and am comfortable treating patients in all areas. I create a space where you can explore what matters most to you, whether that's navigating life transitions, healing from trauma, or strengthening relationships.

My approach

My modalities are psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused CFT, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Child Parent Psychotherapy, and Infant-Parent psychotherapy. My approach is to support you and provide a treatment plan to meet your specific needs. I look forward to working with you.

My communication style

I like to be familiar and try to be gentle. Some people may ask for directness, which I encourage you to tell me if that's what you need. During our first couple of sessions, I like to ask what you need to best meet your goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

After working as a rape and domestic violence crisis counselor and being part of the immediate response team, I realized there was not enough support during the aftermath. Working with children of trauma is an area I am continuously working on to improve.

When it comes to goal setting, I like to ask what you expect from therapy, what goals you would like to achieve, and explore my approaches to best support you. We'll work together to create a plan that feels right for where you are.

Our first session

Understand that the first session is an assessment. We are trying to gather as much information as possible, but also provide some support so you get an idea of what therapy will look like. I want you to feel comfortable and heard from the start.
