Debbie Mancillas

Hello, my name is Debbie Mancillas. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working with people and getting to know their story. My area of focus is working with those experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, or adjustment. I like my clients to feel comfortable with the counseling process and explain it is just like talking with a friend/family member, but with a purpose, and no judgment.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is talk therapy, utilizing a Cognitive Behavioral approach or Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

My focus

I provide individual therapy to young adults (18-30 years old) but have experience and am open to working with all age groups including children and older adults. I am comfortable working with those who may be going through life adjustments, anxiety, depression, parenting problems, or who just may need some emotional support and somebody to listen to them.

My communication style

I am able to provide a calm and neutral environment where the clients are able to freely express themselves. I provide optimistic and positive energy in my sessions and utilize light-hearted humor to build rapport with my clients.

My journey to mental healthcare

As a Social Worker, I am driven to help others in need. I enjoy being part of the healing process and supporting clients on their emotional journey.

My goals for you

I believe in allowing the client to determine what their goal is and define what would be helpful and meaningful to them. I gently guide and probe to help elicit and define what they want for themselves.

The initial session(s) is relationship building which includes getting to know the client, their story, and challenges that brought them to me.
