I am a Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of PTSD, substance use/addiction issues, and anxiety. I also work with clients experiencing insomnia, depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, chronic pain, and life issues such as personal growth and relationship problems.
My approach
I take a trauma-informed approach to treatment and believe in treating the whole person rather than simply focusing on symptom management. My commitment to a strength-based approach guides my work. I utilize an integrative approach with an emphasis on mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral approaches, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I believe there is no single approach that works for everyone, so I take time to understand each client's needs and meet them where they are at.
My focus
I see individuals and specialize in anxiety, self-esteem, sexual abuse, stress, substance use, trauma and PTSD, sleep or insomnia, panic attacks, and coping skills.
My communication style
I hold the therapeutic relationship in the highest regard. I take great care to ensure that every individual feels heard and cared for within our work together. I strive to understand each person's point of view and create a therapy experience that feels safe and genuine.
My journey to mental healthcare
I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. I went on to earn my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego in 2018. I am a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) and have undergone training to deliver evidence-based treatments for PTSD, including EMDR. I am especially interested in the intersection of trauma, addiction, and chronic pain.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you heal, grow, and thrive. I will work collaboratively with you to address your unique needs and challenges. Through our work together, I aim to empower you with the insights and coping skills to navigate life's difficulties, enhance your well-being, and reach your full potential.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will focus on understanding what brings you to therapy and clarifying your goals. I will listen carefully to gain a holistic picture of your background, strengths, and current struggles. We will begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship as the foundation for our work together. I will share more about my approach and we can decide together if we are a good fit to continue working towards your healing and growth.
