I am a licensed clinical psychologist (Ph.D.), and I specialize in helping you along your path to healing using evidence-based practices provided with warmth and care. I want to work with you to both reduce the symptoms that have been interfering with your life and help you to build a meaningful life you are excited about living. I work with a wide range of conditions and am specialized in treating anxiety, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, and borderline personality disorder. I also work with grief and OCD.
My approach
I am very invested in you starting to feel better as quickly as possible while also setting you up for long-term good mental health through the use of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I’m experienced is several niche therapies, such as Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD, Imagery Rehearsal Therapy for PTSD-related nightmares, and Systematic Desensitization for CPAP usage. We will work together to explore the areas of your life that are most impacted by your mental health symptoms and develop a plan to address these together.
My focus
I work with adult patients. I have extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, bipolar disorder, addiction, and borderline personality disorder. I also work with grief and OCD.
My communication style
I want to create a warm and empathetic environment where you feel heard and valued. Therapy is a very vulnerable place to be! I want you to feel safe when you are with me as we work together towards your goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I've always loved talking to people and getting to know their stories. I also love learning and research. Becoming a psychologist was an outgrowth of these loves. I enjoy being able to walk beside people through some of the most painful areas of their lives as they work toward healing and wholeness. I would love to meet with you and be a part of your story of recovery!
My goals for you
I view goal setting as a collaborative process. I am there to use my expertise to help you achieve the goals you set. You can think of therapy as a road trip. You are the one in the driver's seat - I'm in the passenger's seat. I'm here to offer my expertise to help guide and direct you to where you would like to go. And if you don't know where you want to go yet, that's ok! We will work together to discover that as we go.
My first session with you
In our first session, you can expect me to spend time getting to know you. I'm invested in getting to know you as a person to be heard and valued, not just a list of symptoms to be treated. I'll want to know what brings you in and what your hopes are for seeing me. We'll start the process of getting a handle on exactly what has been bothering you and set a path forward for working together.
