Hi there, I'm Jacqueline!

I work with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety and depression, and I also enjoy working with young and middle-aged adults.

My focus

I have experience in working with young and middle-aged adults, children, and adolescents who suffer from depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, PTSD, generational trauma, and panic disorder. In addition, I am trained in EMDR, which is a specific therapeutic modality to work on trauma memories.

My approach

I focus on the needs of my client and the presenting problem in order to ascertain the best therapeutic approach. I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. In addition, I also focus on the Mind-brain-body connection.

My communication style

During sessions, my goal is to create an environment that is based on trust and respect, where my client feels safe to talk about their feelings. My approach is calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey as a therapist began when I volunteered with Voices For Children as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Not only did I come to understand the need for therapists, but it also brought me a sense of fulfillment to be able to help, advocate for my clients, watch them grow, and maximize their potential.

My goals for you

With regards to goal setting, we discuss what my client would like to accomplish during our time together in order to establish which therapeutic modality to focus on and achieve improvement in all aspects of their life.

Our first session

Our first session is about building that initial rapport between the two of us. It will begin with me asking questions in a calm and safe space in order to get to know my client better so that I can help them as much as I can.
