Hi, I hope your browsing or search for a therapist is going well. I know it can be a lot of pressure to find and choose a therapist based on a picture and bio on a website. If you feel like we would be a good match I would be excited to work with you and if not, I wish wellness.
My approach
In my therapy, I use cognitive behavioral therapy, and aspects of play therapy, and I enjoy parenting interventions—I am informed in the evidenced-based parenting model generation PMTO. I come from a family systems theory background meaning the family unit (whatever it may look like) influences and has a ripple effect on each other's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
My focus
I have worked with people who experience anxiety, depression, distress in romantic relationships, parenting struggles, and children's problematic behaviors. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families.
My communication style
I aim to create a warm, collaborative environment where we can openly discuss your thoughts and feelings. My communication style is direct but empathetic, focusing on understanding your unique perspective and experiences. I ask questions to gain insight and provide reflective feedback to help you gain clarity and work towards your goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am an LCSW and have been practicing therapy for 5 years. I am currently seeking my PhD in Human Development and Family Studies in the Couple and Family Therapy track. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from California State University, Chico from August 2015 to May 2017.
My goals for you
What I know is that you are the expert in your life, and I want to join with you and assist you in achieving the goals that you have for yourself, your relationship, and/or your family.
