Hi there, I'm Tessa!

When past events keep you from living your life fully, it's time to take steps toward healing. If you're feeling tired of just surviving, I can help you build skills to move forward in your life effectively. Often, my clients will not know where to start but acknowledge that they feel "stuck." Coming in for your first session is a big step forward and a great start to healing.

My approach

I use an approach that draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness, family systems, and strength-based perspectives. My style is person-centered, relational, culturally sensitive, and trauma-focused. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your unique needs. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) which is a type of trauma focused therapy. This therapy can benefit individuals who struggle with PTSD, trauma, anxiety disorders, birth trauma, and depression.

My focus

I work with individuals coping with anxiety, depression, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, infertility, relationship issues, low self-esteem, stress, and trauma/PTSD. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health therapist which means I completed advanced trainings in this area and continue to complete continuing education to stay current on the best practices.

My communication style

I value establishing safety and trust in our therapeutic relationship from the start. Feeling safe with me is imperative for you to access and process vulnerable emotions and life events. I aim to create an environment where you feel heard, understood and supported.

My journey to mental healthcare

I earned my Masters of Education (MED) from the University of Oregon. I have advanced training in EMDR and perinatal mental health. My passion is helping people heal from past wounds so they can live fuller, connected, and more satisfying lives.

My goals for you

My goal is to help you develop effective coping skills, gain new insights and perspectives, improve your relationships, and build greater resilience and self-understanding. I want to empower you with tools to navigate life's challenges and move forward with renewed hope and clarity.

My first session with you

In our first session, I aim to get to know you and what brings you to therapy. We'll discuss your current challenges, relevant history, and goals for our work together. You can ask me any questions you have about my approach. Together, we'll start mapping out a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
