Hi, I'm Cristina! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of Los Angeles, CA, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. My goal as a therapist is not to fix people, instead, I take a collaborative approach to help clients discover their true potential. I believe experiences, including mistakes, shape a person's character. Acknowledging and respecting a client's view helps create a sense of empowerment which eventually promotes increased strength and resilience.
My approach
My hope is to provide a safe and relaxed environment, free from judgment. Regardless of our past, we all have the ability to grow. I look forward to being a part of your journey and I am thankful for the opportunity to work side-by-side with you.
My focus
Working with at-risk youth for over 15 years from a variety of diverse backgrounds has been an honor and my passion. My specialty is counseling teens (15-19 years old) who have found themselves in and out of the juvenile justice and foster care systems. I also have over 6 years of experience working with incarcerated adults assisting them with adjusting to life in and out of prison. I primarily use a cognitive behavioral approach. My areas of focus include substance abuse, behavioral issues at home and school, anger management, anxiety, depression, stress, teen parenthood, re-entry, and juvenile delinquency. Additionally, I love working with young adults (18-25 years old) and college students who are experiencing major life transitions and challenges such as relationship problems, career-related difficulties, family conflict, or personal issues that sometimes you just need to vent to a stranger about.
My communication style
Through compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental, relaxed space, my hope is that you can leave the session feeling confident about the work you have done.
