Hi there, I'm Manika!

I welcome you on the journey of healing and personal transformation from a holistic approach to mind, body, and emotions. This may allow you to free yourself from belief systems, thought patterns, and habits that seem to be not working anymore and adversely influence health, relationships, personal growth, and inner peace. Stuck or repressed emotions feed into anxiety, depression, or anger, disrupting one's mental, physical, and social well-being. I work collaboratively in the session with you towards self-actualization & emotional fulfillment. My hope is to provide a safe space to cultivate awareness.

My approach

I apply various orientations and training such as CBT, REBT, solution-focused brief therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Existential therapy to help you manage emotional discomfort and with confidence & resilience.

My focus

My practice is based on the system's approach that focuses on treating the whole person keeping the surrounding in mind. Utilizing evidenced-based interventions/protocols I work with individuals to address issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, addiction, trauma, and personal growth-related concerns.

My communication style

I consider every individual as a whole and unique identity, hence, understanding clients' worldviews and working in collaboration with them to establish goals and treatment plans is an integral part of my practice.

My journey to mental healthcare

Manika has completed her master's in Clinical Psychology from Eisner Institute of Professional Studies, in Encino, California, and is licensed as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist as of 2023. She has gained practical knowledge while working as a primary counselor, at the Center for Discovery, Dual Diagnosis Rehabilitation Center, Pacific Place, and for 3 years in private practice at Sherly Khodadad & Associates, Santa Monica. Using evidence-based interventions, she has addressed the biopsychosocial needs of the clients to restore their optimum social, mental, and physical well-being (within their capacity). Along with individual, family, and group sessions, she facilitated yoga & spirituality groups. Prior to her move to the United States in 2015, Manika had the desire to create a healthy, pleasant, and loving community which drew her towards studying the science of life - Ayurveda and its sister science Yoga. She is a postgraduate, Ayurvedic Doctor from India. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Ayurveda from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, Maharashtra, and her Master's Degree in Ayurveda from SDM College and Research Centre of Excellence, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka. Adding to her extensive studies, she is also an Internationally Certified Yoga Teacher from one of the most refined and oldest schools of Yoga in the world, The Yoga Institute, Mumbai. Manika's Eastern time-tested wisdom with Western evidenced-based treatment modalities has given her an understanding in regard to the psycho-emotional roots of health and disease.
