Hi there, I'm Charles!

Hello, thank you for visiting my profile page. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief or loss, or just trying to make sense of why you are not feeling better in general, let's talk and explore how therapy may help you. Whether you are considering therapy for the first time or returning after a break, I welcome you to contact me so we can discuss your concerns and determine if I might be the therapist for you.

My approach

Effective therapy begins with a good "fit." It is crucial you find someone you can feel comfortable talking with. I offer supportive, warm, and honest feedback utilizing therapeutic tools and interventions that have helped many like yourself regain the clarity, confidence, and purpose they are seeking. I utilize approaches including Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Attachment-based, Client Centered Therapy, Complicated Grief Therapy (CGT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical (DBT), Grief Therapy, Mindfulness-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Object Relations, Psychodynamic, and Solution Focused therapy.

My focus

I work with adults of all ages, both individuals and couples. My specialties include anxiety, bipolar disorder, coping skills, depression, grief, job stress, LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, school issues, self esteem, and older adults. I especially welcome those who may have felt marginalized in the past.

My communication style

I believe in providing supportive, warm, and honest feedback to my clients. Through our therapeutic relationship, I aim to create a safe space where you can openly share your thoughts, feelings and experiences. My goal is to listen empathetically, validate your struggles, and collaborate with you to develop effective coping strategies and work towards positive change.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have over 15 years' experience working in the mental health profession in a variety of settings. I hold an MA in Psychology, which has provided me with a strong foundation in understanding human behavior, emotions, and mental health. My diverse experience has exposed me to working with clients from various backgrounds facing a wide range of challenges, further honing my skills as a therapist.

My goals for you

If you are recently diagnosed with a severe mental-health condition such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder, I can collaborate with you and your doctor to assist you towards regaining a sense self, while helping you learn how to effectively manage the symptoms that may have robbed you of your previous life. My ultimate goal is to empower you with the tools and insights to improve your overall well-being and quality of life.

My first session with you

In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and beginning to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. I will listen carefully to understand your unique concerns, challenges, and goals for therapy. Together, we will start to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your needs and preferences. You can expect me to provide a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where you feel heard and validated.
