Hi! My name is Ali Akhtar! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am very collaborative with my approach to therapy, and will do my best to help figure things out together! My focus tends to be whatever your focus is, and I will do my best to help achieve your goal(s).
My approach
When it comes to providing therapy, I do lean on a few different approaches. I like to think I am eclectic. Some of the modalities I lean on are: Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to name a few. If one approach does not fit, I try something different.

I like to think I work with all types of conditions. I definitely do not discriminate and am willing to learn.

I strive to create a comfortable, non-judgmental, safe, mellow, and calm space.
My journey to mental healthcare
I believe everyone can use some sort of help at any point in their lives. I like the idea of being able to support or hold space for a person as they go on their journey. In addition, I believe mental health is just as important as our physical health, so I have chosen this path to provide any assistance I can to a person.
