My communication style

I like to think my communication style is inviting. My personality is calm, and I want you to feel safe and secure in each session. It's important to me to get to know you and your style of communication so I can adapt as well. I want you to know you are in charge of the sessions. I am here to assist with my expertise and experience.

My journey to mental healthcare

I grew up with 4 sisters, and I was the oldest. I had the role of father to them as a young boy, and I felt a need to protect and be there for them in times of need. My role as protector shifted to others in need. I realized that thought patterns helped get people through difficult times, and it intrigued me, so I decided to do psychotherapy.

My goals for you

Goal setting is very important. The goals are the goals you have chosen to work on in each session. There is no pressure to complete goals, but to improve even 1% each week is manageable, and I can help with this. We review each goal most weeks unless there are pressing issues that week you would like to discuss.

Our first session

The first session is a “Get to Know You” session. I would like to see if my style and communication work for you. My main goal in the first session is to make sure you feel comfortable speaking about issues that hinder your life.
