I am a clinical social worker (LCSW) with more than ten years of experience helping individuals and families cope with life stressors and sometimes navigate more complicated problems. Working with me, you will find a warm and welcoming space to explore the issues that keep you "stuck" - and the understanding and acceptance necessary to begin making lasting changes in your life.
My approach
My therapy toolbox includes positive, strengths-based strategies grounded in mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavior therapy. I firmly believe that you are the expert in your life and the situations that impact you. My role is to provide support, offer new perspectives, and engage in collaborative problem-solving to help you reach your goals.
My focus
I frequently work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, intense emotions, or overwhelming stress. I also work with people who have issues related to disordered eating, substance use, and legal or other behavioral problems. I am willing to see teens (ages 13-17), youth (ages 8-12), individuals, families, and couples.
My communication style
I communicate with warmth, empathy, and a focus on understanding your unique perspective. My style is collaborative and non-judgmental. I ask questions to gain insight into your experiences, while also sharing my own thoughts openly. Together, we'll engage in supportive dialogue to help you find clarity and work towards positive change.
My journey to mental healthcare
I began my journey to becoming a licensed clinical social worker by earning my Master of Social Work degree. To fulfill the clinical hours required for licensure, I trained under the supervision of several experienced LCSWs and LMFTs at the El Dorado County Mental Health Division in South Lake Tahoe, CA from 2012 to 2015.
My goals for you
My perspective is that we co-create goals that will get you past the issues that keep you stuck and will support your ability to do things and develop relationships that are meaningful to you.
My first session with you
My goal for the first session is to create a welcoming space where we can talk about your past, present, and future self - what's happened to you, what's important to you, and what your vision is for the future.
