In today's society, it has become normal to hide our struggles and highlight only the best parts of our lives. This can make it difficult to find authenticity, leading to feelings of loneliness or a sense that you are doing something wrong because your life doesn't match someone else's. The truth is, everyone is dealing with something, even if it's not advertised. It's normal to struggle with an array of feelings when there has been any level of change in your life.
My approach
My approach to therapy is warm, welcoming, and authentic. I aim to create a safe space where you can openly share your struggles without judgment. At the same time, I'm not afraid to ask difficult questions to facilitate true growth and healing. We'll work collaboratively to help you navigate life's challenges, whether they seem small or overwhelmingly large.
My focus
I specialize in helping individuals dealing with grief/loss, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and self-esteem struggles. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Whatever your age or stage of life, I'm here to support you.
My communication style
Clients have described my communication style as warm and welcoming, putting them at ease. I balance this with the ability to dive deep and ask thought-provoking questions that lead to meaningful insights and growth. My goal is to create an atmosphere of trust where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to mental healthcare began with my strong desire to help people, women in particular heal from traumatic experiences. I've always wanted to destigmatize mental health, especially in the Black community by demonstrating its importance and need. I began with clinical hours at Children's Institute, Inc. in Los Angeles from 2015-2018. This experience working with diverse populations of children, adults, and families solidified my passion for helping others navigate life's challenges and find healing. I've also worked in a school district as a psychiatric social worker providing mental health care to students and families. I now run my own private practice in Los Angeles and serve mostly adult women and it is my joy and pleasure to walk alongside all of my clients as they heal and become the best version of themselves.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you reach a place of authentic healing, renewed hope, and genuine joy. Whether you're struggling with a recent life transition, long-standing issues, or anything in between, I'm committed to walking alongside you on your journey of growth and self-discovery.
My first session with you
In our first session, my priority is to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your story. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy and start to identify your goals. This session is all about building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding, laying the foundation for our work together. Remember, taking this first step is a sign of strength and courage.
