Hi there, I'm John!

I work with clients impacted by depression, anxiety, and trauma. I've been with people in their lowest moments and had the privilege of seeing many heal and grow to become who they really are when not impacted by mental health symptoms.

My focus

I work with children, teens, and young adults. I take great pleasure in working with the Latino Community, communities of color, and the LGBTQ+ community.

My approach

I'm here to listen, understand, and help. I identify as a Narrative Therapist, a specialty that helps historically oppressed communities recognize and heal from dominant narratives that may be oppressive and result in an internalized sense of being the problem.

I have a compassionate and strengths-based communication style while still being direct and clear with clients.

My journey to mental healthcare

I find great joy in helping others heal and become more fully who they are. I see this work as rooted in the pursuit of social justice and equity. We all experience emotional pain, and I believe it's through human relationships that we heal.

I view treatment goal setting as a collaborative process that prioritizes what you're coming to treatment for. I'll discuss various modalities and interventions to help you achieve your goals and feel a sense of ownership in the treatment process.

I'll focus on engagement and rapport building to understand what brings you to treatment. I'll gather information about who you are as a unique person, your history, and possible symptoms to identify an accurate diagnosis that can guide our work together.
