I bring over 25 years of experience in mental health, ranging from addiction to trauma. I believe in a strength-based approach in providing clients support because everyone has skills, talents, and abilities to tap into to assist them in overcoming life's challenges.

I am open to working with the majority of clients ranging in age from 18 to 85.

My approach

My first priority, as a therapist, is to create a safe and relaxing environment for the client. I work with the following treatment modalities: Christian Counseling, Attachment-based, CBT, CGT, DBT, EFT, EMDR, Gottman Method, Humanistic, IFS, SFBT, Trauma Focused Intervention, Structural Family Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based.

My communication style is about honesty and fostering an authentic environment where the client can be themselves, but also bring up concerns as needed.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey in becoming a therapist started over 30 years ago when I began working in a group home for abused children. What attracted me to therapy is being able to help clients empower themselves, and also be free from the traumas of their past and live a healthier and productive life, fulfilling their own dreams and goals.

The clients are the ones who set the goals, and as a therapist, my responsibility is to help them craft them in a way that is to their therapeutic benefit.

Our first session

For sure, we will do an icebreaker, just something to start to build good communication, but also to create a relaxed environment for the client. We will go over expectations of the cancellation policy and safety protocols in the event of emergencies and crises. Confidentiality will be addressed and when it has to be broken.
