I believe the "fit", or connection, is crucial to successful therapy. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental setting that fosters clarity and insight and creates the conditions for growth and healing. I use an interpersonal and developmental approach but am also able to work from a different perspective when conditions call for one. I am experienced in helping people with their thought processes as they encounter the difficulties and challenges of life.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is to put you, the client in the driver's seat. You are the expert in your life and I am there to assist you in regaining control of your thoughts, emotions, and ultimately your life. I am not a therapist who will sit in the wood-paneled room with the leather couch asking about your mother. Instead, we will discuss things in a therapeutic manner the same way you would with a friend, only with a mental health professional there in the room.
My focus
I work with all individuals who are in need of assistance with their mental health. I have extensive experience working with veterans, law enforcement, individuals with substance abuse, trauma, depression, and anxiety.
My communication style
Working with me is a laid-back process. For many starting therapy is stressful enough. I am here to assist with reducing stress and anxiety. We will talk in a comfortable manner where I will match your expectations; not the other way around.
