Hi there, I'm Darla! Hello, my name is Darla Griffith and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in the Central Valley area of the San Joaquin Valley in California. I am a trained Clinical Telemental Health Provider which affords me the pleasure to work with clients throughout the state. I enjoy working with clients ages 18 and older with a focus on those struggling with anxiety, depression, traumatic life events, and other areas causing stress.
My approach
I approach therapy with the idea we have innate strengths we can use to help in facing life's difficult times. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) and use CBT to understand how our thoughts link to our feelings and behaviors. I am trained in EMDR which is appropriate for treating multiple issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma. However, I’ll work with you to ensure any intervention is based on your comfort level, needs, and goals.
My focus
I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and teens in the areas of anger management, women's issues, emotional disturbance, stress (including job stress), coping skills, depression and anxiety, mood disorders, and self-esteem.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, personable, and accepting. Your relationship with your therapist is one of the most important aspects of therapy and I work to create a safe environment, listening to your needs, and moving at your pace.
My first session with you
During our first session, I’ll ask questions to better understand what brings you to therapy, how you’re feeling now and over the past few weeks, how you’re dealing with your concerns, and what your goals are for participating in therapy. The first session is about me getting to know you and you getting to know me; building a sense of connection for working together.
