My name is Jung Yun Jang, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in California. I work with adults and older adults who are experiencing increased stress, depression, and anxiety. I practice evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help my clients to learn effective strategies to cope with life's challenges and to support them to find their path to meaning.
My approach
I take an integrative approach to therapy, using components of different treatment modalities to provide services tailored to meet each client's unique needs. The ways I think about and explore client's difficulties are in line with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My focus
My focus has been working with adults and older adults who are dealing with significant losses and/or transitions (changes as well as greater difficulty in dealing with long-standing problems) in different aspects of life, such as jobs, relationships, and health. People in these situations may experience depression, anxiety, increased levels of stress, and sleep problems. My role is then to help them to build and strengthen their coping muscles that would allow them to move toward what matters to them.
My communication style
I value working together as a team. My clients are an expert of their own experience. I have expertise in the human mind and behavior. I appreciate that my clients invite me to their journey toward their goals, and I am a companion who listens closely without judgment, who is curious, and who shows different paths they can choose to walk on.
