My approach

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused, and behavior-activation approaches to help with symptoms of anxiety and depression. This often includes identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that could worsen your symptoms. I take an action-oriented approach to help you develop positive coping strategies to face life stressors.

Therapy is a collaborative approach. I believe in setting clear goals for our work together. I create a supportive and warm environment where you can be gently challenged for growth.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have always felt curious about the human experience and individual resiliency during difficult moments. I've supported individuals and families in community mental health and medical settings, including survivors of domestic violence and those coping with health challenges. I feel passionate about empowering others to navigate life's challenges.

During our work together, we will discuss your goals for therapy. I will often discuss therapy homework, which is an opportunity to practice coping strategies outside our sessions.

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. We will discuss your background, symptoms, what brought you into therapy, and your goals for our work together. Therapy is a process where you'll have an opportunity to learn about yourself and gain tools to help you manage the challenges you're facing.
