The decision to start seeing a therapist often comes after months, or even years, of emotional struggle. You may feel like you should be able to handle this on your own or you may be losing hope that things can get better at all. It takes courage, hope, and determination to reach out for help.
My approach
As a therapist, I work hard from day one to make you feel comfortable, accepted, and heard. My approach involves utilizing techniques from Gottman, EFT, family systems, mindfulness-based practices, attachment-based therapy, and EMDR to help you heal.
My focus
I specialize in working with people who are experiencing disconnection, self-doubt, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. I am willing to see individuals and work with issues related to anxiety, depression, family conflict, grief, life transitions, parenting, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress, trauma and PTSD, and coping skills.
My communication style
I want you to know that you are not alone and that I can help you get through this. Together, we can begin to help you heal.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to mental healthcare involved completing my practicum at Providence Place in San Diego from September 2005 to August 2009, though that program no longer exists. I then did my internship at San Diego Youth Services/
My goals for you
My goal at the end of therapy is always for my clients to feel whole, and healthy and deeply connected to the people around them.
