Hi there, I'm Kim!

Kim Simmons, LMFT 120766. Happiness is something we find along the way, not something we get at the end of the rainbow. When the pain of staying the same outweighs the fear of change then change will occur. Sometimes we feel powerless and our lives become unmanageable so it's important to find support and guidance to help create a life you don't need to escape from. Identifying negative thoughts and patterns and replacing them with healthy alternatives which leads to a deeper, richer, and fuller life and lasting recovery. I have over 14 years of experience in the field of chemical dependency, drug addiction, and substance abuse. Learning to embrace the totality of who you are as a human being, not a human doing, and how to live life fully in this generous present moment, and walk in truth and beauty, connecting your mind and heart to be one with yourself is the journey to recover yourself. I am passionate about recovery and being of service. I believe effectiveness is the measure of truth and if you can conceive it you can achieve it. I utilize a comprehensive approach to dealing with life on life's terms. I specialize in treating addiction as a disease in mind, body, and spirit. I am available evenings and weekends.

My approach

I utilize a client-centered, solution-focused approach. I believe you are whole and complete as you are, and it is a matter of remembering who you are as a human being, not a human doing. I also believe effectiveness is the measure of truth. How is that working for you and if it's not, then what would work for you?

My focus

I have over 17 years of experience in the field of chemical dependency, substance abuse, addiction, and co-occurring/dual-diagnosis most common are: Anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders.

My communication style

I like to create a safe relaxed atmosphere so my clients can open up and explore what has been happening.

My journey to mental healthcare

I am passionate about recovery and being of service. I consider it a privilege to hold space for someone while they transform their life. I believe effectiveness is the measure of truth and if you can conceive it you can achieve it. I utilize a comprehensive approach to dealing with life on life's terms. I specialize in treating addiction as a disease in mind, body, and spirit. I am available evenings and weekends.

My goals for you

Client-centered approach so it's up to my clients. What do they want to get out of therapy? My job is to hold the space for my clients to heal and recover. My approach is very collaborative.

My first session with you

Our first session will be more of a fact-finding mission, what they want to get out of therapy, and getting to know each other to make sure it's a fit. Hopefully, they will get an idea of what they hope to gain out of our sessions and my approach to see if they are comfortable.
