As a Somatic Therapist, I am Julie, and I specialize in using body awareness and body-based interventions to support my clients and their nervous systems.
My approach
My approach to therapy involves deep transformative work that integrates parts of ourselves left in the shadows within the context of a safe relational container. I utilize somatic, client-centered, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dance/movement, mindfulness-based, psychodynamic, relational, sandplay, and trauma-focused modalities.
My focus
I focus on working with individuals, couples, and minors (ages 13-17) dealing with issues such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, dissociative disorders, divorce, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual abuse, trauma and PTSD, women's issues, and child abuse or neglect.
My communication style
I listen with care and compassion, creating space for you to express yourself fully. Through gentle inquiry and reflection, we'll explore your inner world together. My communication style is warm, nonjudgmental, and attuned to both your words and somatic experience.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master of Arts (MA) degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA, where I studied from August 2015 to August 2018. This education provided me with a strong foundation in somatic therapies and holistic approaches to mental healthcare.
My goals for you
My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore the parts of yourself that have been left in the shadows, allowing for deep healing and transformation. I aim to empower you with body awareness and interventions that support your nervous system and overall well-being.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and establishing a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and understanding. I will listen attentively to your story, concerns, and goals for therapy. Together, we will begin to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your unique needs and preferences.
