Hello, my name is Stephanie Fierro-Haldorson. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have experience working with couples, LGBTQIA+ community, adolescents, foster youth, trauma, addiction, and children ages 5-17.
My approach
I am an eclectic therapist; in that I use multiple approaches with my clients. I primarily utilize Solution-focused therapy, TF-CBT, Bowenian, and person-centered modalities. I pride myself in my ability to adjust and meet client needs; no one approach will work for all persons.
My focus
I have worked with so many different persons. I am comfortable working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community (adults and children), trauma, foster youth, couples, those with addiction, anxiety, and depression.
My communication style
My approach to therapy is that it should feel comfortable. I have conversations with my clients and will assist them in identifying their strengths. In session, I often will not utilize clinical jargon, write notes, or assume I am the expert on your life and your experiences. My goal is for us to work together to help you feel better.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided I was going to be a therapist in 5th grade. I have always wanted to help others become the best versions of themselves. I believe we all need assistance every once in a while. I want life to be enjoyable for all and truly hope all find peace.
My goals for you
I always want the client to have input and to ensure I understand their goals. I encourage them to set reasonable, measurable, and realistic goals.
My first session with you
First sessions are used to begin gathering information and history. I also will begin to know you as a person and understand what it is you're hoping to get from therapy.
