Hi there, I'm Layla!

As a compassionate therapist with an extensive background in supporting those grappling with chronic and terminal illnesses, grief, loss, and severe mental health challenges, I am committed to providing empathetic care tailored to each individual's unique needs. With a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my practice.

My approach

My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Complicated Grief Therapy, and a psychosocial perspective, adapting to the specific requirements of each client. I recognize the significance of cultural considerations and strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

My focus

I work with a wide range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, minors (ages 13-17), and preteens (ages 8-12). My areas of specialization encompass aging, Alzheimer's, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, cultural stress, and more. I am dedicated to supporting clients across the lifespan, with a particular focus on the unique challenges faced by survivors of trauma.

My communication style

My communication style is warm, empathetic, and culturally sensitive. As a Christian, I approach all spiritual and religious orientations with an open mind and without bias, respecting each individual's beliefs and values. I prioritize active listening, collaboration, and creating a supportive therapeutic alliance.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to mental healthcare has been shaped by a deep desire to alleviate suffering and promote emotional well-being. Having witnessed the profound impact of chronic illness, grief, and mental health struggles on individuals and families, I felt called to pursue a career in social work. Through my clinical experience, I have developed my skills in providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

My goals for you

My primary goal is to support you in achieving emotional healing, comfort, and self-acceptance. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we will work to develop coping skills, build resilience, and foster personal growth. I am committed to empowering you to navigate life's challenges with increased insight, self-awareness, and inner strength.

My first session with you

During our first session, we will focus on building rapport and establishing a strong therapeutic alliance. I will take the time to listen to your story, understand your unique needs and goals, and collaboratively develop a personalized treatment plan. We will explore your background, current challenges, and aspirations, laying the foundation for our work together. From there, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth, tailored to your specific needs and preferences.
