Hi, my name is Jeremy Alvarado and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2017. I have worked in mental health settings for approximately 8 years. Through my practice, I have serviced adolescents and adults. Aside from working in mental health clinics, I also have experience working in schools.
My approach
I tailor my therapeutic approach based on client needs. I am a certified cognitive behavior therapist through the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies. I also have training and experience in Dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive process therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.
My focus
I specialize in working through clients' depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, phobias, substance abuse, impulse disorders, self-esteem, and mood disorders.
My communication style
My communication style is empathetic, supportive, down to earth. I want to create a safe environment for you to share your thoughts and feelings in each session.
My goals for you
Identifying a goal for treatment between the therapist and clients is important. It's important for the client to understand the steps on how the goal can be accomplished and review the progress in treatment.
My first session with you
During the first session, I want to hear your story. I will ask questions to understand who you are, the problems you are facing, and the changes you want to make. Together, we will make a treatment plan to help reach your personal goals.
