Hi there, I'm Thuy!

I am a Vietnamese American Refugee Immigrant. I provide therapy with a lens from the trauma-informed care focus to assist my clients in healing from their past traumas with a path to mental wellness.

My focus

I typically work with Asian Americans. I do have varied experiences working with many diverse ethnic groups, socioeconomic statuses, ages, and levels of severity of mental illness.

My approach

I use strength-based approaches using inclusive language. I evoke change using motivational interviewing interventions to seek my client's motivation. I have training on harm reduction, seeking safety, CBT-I, MI, Recovery Model, Solution-Focused, and trauma-informed care.

My communication style

My voice is typically calm and collected. I work on being transparent with my clients, address their issues at hand when ready, and make positive changes to transform their lives. I am respectful of my client's decision, I provide active reflective listening, and I meet my client where they are at.

My journey to mental healthcare

I started therapy myself during graduate school and learned that therapy can help everyone heal from the past and present. My goal is to help others heal and rediscover themselves. I hope to do the same for my clients.
