My focus
I work with patients from teens to those in retirement age. I treat anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship issues, parenting/co-parenting, adoption, divorce, domestic violence, work issues, and life transitions.
My communication style
I provide a strength-based approach to therapy and believe the therapeutic alliance is important. I provide a team-based and client-centered approach to the therapy process. My goal is to make the client feel involved in and comfortable with the therapy process from start to finish.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have been a social worker for 21 years with the last 12 years working as a therapist. I moved from case management to therapy after realizing that part of being a care manager is providing “therapy.” I wanted to be formally trained and move into being able to help clients in a more one-to-one way which I felt would be a rewarding use of my social work training. I enjoy providing therapy because I am able to observe the changes that occur with time. I also enjoy processing with clients and helping them put the puzzle pieces together in order to see the bigger picture.
My goals for you
Goals are set up with the patient as part of the intake process and are client-created.
My first session with you
Assessment and rapport building.
