Hi there, I'm Graciela!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California with over 20 years of experience. I am bilingual, English and Spanish. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and life transitions. I help clients gain insight, build resilience, and create meaningful and lasting change.

My focus

I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, medical and caregiving stress, school and work-related issues, grief, and family conflict. My goal is to provide a safe environment where you can explore emotions, develop effective coping strategies, and improve overall well-being.

My approach

I use an eclectic approach centered around cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness. I structure each session around the client's needs and goals.

My communication style

My communication style is open-ended, focusing on creating a safe space, building rapport, providing empathic listening, and supporting your journey. I want clients to feel comfortable and have the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences without feeling shame or judgement.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey started in medical social work, helping those who were frail, vulnerable, and frightened. It opened my passions to helping others at a time of need, despair, and/or loss. Through my career I have discovered that building a supportive relationship through therapy creates a safe place to explore life struggles.

Our first session

During the first session, I will gather information about the client's current functioning, symptoms, and previous mental health experiences. I will provide the client a safe space to share their reasons for attending therapy and their expectations. I use the first session to build rapport and establish a positive therapeutic relationship.
