I am a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years of experience in the mental health field. I have dedicated my career to working in community mental health settings serving children, families, and adults. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to ensuring individuals have access to quality services to alleviate the struggles associated with emotional and mental health issues.
My approach
I believe in providing client-centered, strength-based care focused on growth and the alleviation of emotional/mental suffering. I approach therapy as a collaborative process driven by each individual's needs and goals for change. My work incorporates a developmental perspective, considering the impact of adverse experiences on one's current situation. I am a certified grief educator incorporating my knowledge of grief and loss into my work with clients. I utilize trauma-informed practices, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and cognitive therapies to support positive change and healing.
My focus
I strive to help individuals/adults acquire the tools to successfully navigate the mental health challenges that they experience. I believe that each person has the capacity to develop the skills they need to live healthy and satisfying lives. I specialize in helping those dealing with grief and loss, anger-management problems, trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, job stress, self-esteem issues, body image, and stress.
My communication style
I strive to build strong collaborative relationships with my clients. I believe every person has an innate resilience that allows for positive growth and change. My communication style is compassionate, non-judgmental, and focused on supporting you in reaching your therapeutic goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey as a mental healthcare provider began with a commitment to ensuring individuals have access to quality services. I have worked for the past 25 years as a clinician, supervisor, and associate director of community-based mental health programs. I believe in lifelong learning and continuously strive to build my skills to enhance my ability to help others.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you identify and strengthen your internal resources to facilitate healing and positive change. I want to empower you with coping skills, improved self-understanding, and the ability to navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and well-being.
