My name is Jammie Peterson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I graduated from the University of Southern California (USC). My approach to therapy is client-center. I meet the client where they are at and work together to guide them in their journey of self-discovery and healing. My mission in life is to be able to tackle underlying issues that a person may be going through and may need guidance. I work diligently to challenge clients to find their best selves.
My approach
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, strength-based therapy, feedback-informed care therapy, and MAP (managing adapting practice). I help intergrade these interventions to develop positive coping skills to address unresolved depression, anxiety, and trauma within a person's life.
My focus
I have 5 years of experience working as a therapist with ages 5 years to 90 years old. I have experience working within the community with foster youth, former foster youth, probation youth, homeless individuals, and hospice care.
My communication style
I provide a calm, friendly, and understanding environment.
My journey to mental healthcare
Helping others has always been in my blood. I have always wanted to understand and guide those who needed help. When I see my clients making progress it keeps me pushing forward. Knowing that I can make a difference in someone's life keeps me grounded. I enjoy the work I do and love every moment of seeing growth in others.
My goals for you
I work with the client to develop goals together and review often, this allows me and the client to know where they are always at with their treatment.
My first session with you
The first session will be rapport building. Understanding what the client would like to focus on and developing goals for the next session.
