Hi, My name is Theldon (T.J.) Fryberger and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I have been licensed continually since 2004. I focus on working with adults and kids age middle school and up. I specialize in working with individual and couples facing challenges with everyday and less common situation. I see clients from diverse backgrounds and am accepting of diversity.
My approach
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with other approaches that have been helpful to others, known as evidenced based treatments. These treatments have research that indicates that they may be helpful for situations such as anxiety and depression, relationship challenges, and other common concerns.
My focus
I am open to meeting with diverse clients from all backgrounds, and am comfortable with clients who present with challenges involving common and less common situations and challenges.
My communication style
I encourage openness of communication, allowing for mutual agenda setting and communication.
My journey to mental healthcare
I enjoy working directly with people to assist them in defining their situation, understanding of self and others, clarifying decisions, and helping them to solve their challenges and set up a framework for solving future issues moving forward.
My goals for you
Collaborative, meaning that input from the client is valued and valid. It would be a discussion based on what the client finds meaningful and valuable to them.
My first session with you
Introduction and discussion of what the presenting concern is from clients view. Assessment of current functioning, defining what the client might be seeking in therapy. Discussion, assessment, ideas of what might be helpful and determining next steps for follow up session scheduling and planning.
