I have experience working with youth, adolescents, and adults for the past 15 years. At this time I am scheduling appointments to work with adults using MI, CBT, and ACT to help improve their quality of life by increasing awareness to promote positive thinking and behavior patterns.
My approach
My therapeutic approach begins with Motivating Interviewing (MI) for assessment purposes and to increase awareness. My modalities include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to identify, explore and process to be able to look at situations from all angles to decrease stressors of situational events. Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) to accept our thinking to understand behavior is what we can and will learn to control.
My focus
I enjoy working with clients around the balance of life to improve the overall quality of all domains. I expose the client to interpersonal skills, psych education around setting boundaries and expectations when doing and process, and explore faulty expectations that may get in the way of having peace and calmness in our life.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, accepting, and open. I use affirmation, encouragement, and validation to increase positive behavior patterns to provide an open space to talk.
