Hi there, I'm Sandra!

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). My practice is located in Fresno, California, and I work with clients in California via telehealth. I have experience working with youth, adolescents, and adults for the past 15 years.

My focus

I enjoy working with clients around the balance of life to improve the overall quality of all domains. I expose the client to interpersonal skills, psych education around setting boundaries and expectations when doing and processing, and explore faulty expectations that may get in the way of having peace and calmness in our lives.

My approach

My therapeutic approach begins with Motivational Interviewing (MI) for assessment purposes and to increase awareness. My modalities include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to identify, explore, and process to be able to look at situations from all angles to decrease stressors of situational events.

My communication style

My communication style is calm, accepting, and open. I use affirmation, encouragement, and validation to increase positive behavior patterns and provide an open space to talk.

My journey to mental healthcare

I started my journey working as a Behavior Interventionist for six years, doing Applied Behavior Analysis with youth and their families. I worked for the past 6 years working with youth girls and boys ages 14-24 and their families in a Substance Abuse Unit and New Horizon Program.
