Hi there, I'm Valynn!

Valynn Hawkins is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist helping individuals with self-defeating thought patterns take on an active role in creating the life they want. Her mission is to empower others who feel out of control & overly disappointed with their life, to gain clarity as to what actions are in their power.

My focus

I help teens and professional women who feel stuck in their thoughts and actions. I work with clients who want to manage stress, build courage when making decisions, and take action to live a more energized and aligned life.

My approach

Valynn takes each client through the framework called ACTION. Activate, by helping the client seek and understand what is blocking them from taking action in life and getting in the way of having honest relationships. Compromise, by helping the client rehearse self-reflection, conflict resolution, effective communication.

My communication style

I offer a warm, caring, and non-judgmental approach with helpful reminders and compassion practices. I help clients clear the fog in their mind so they can see what actions are possible to make meaningful change.

My journey to mental healthcare

Valynn’s journey started before she was even aware of it during her adolescence. As one of the oldest siblings growing up in South Los Angeles, many responsibilities fell on her lap, calling for her to exercise responsible decision-making. On this journey, she decided to receive her BA in Psychology at California State University, Northridge.

My goals for you

I take a collaborative approach to help clients uncover areas in life they want to enhance, align their actions with their core values, and develop small action steps that lead them to see more of the life that has always been meant for them.
