Hi there, I'm Salome!

Hi! My name is Dr. Salome Dubenetzky and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. As a psychologist, I specialize in treating women coping with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, imposter syndrome, and maternal mental health.I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, where the therapist and client work together. I want my clients to feel empowered, and gain tools that they can utilize to cope with difficult emotions. Where they will feel that they are in control and dictate their own actions, and not allow emotions such as fear or sadness steal their hope and happiness away.

My approach

As a Licensed Psychologist I work with female clients to help them recognize their courage, power, and unimaginable resiliency. I utilize a very proactive approach and strongly believe learning techniques you can utilize in real life helps us to feel that we are in control of our bodies and emotions and that we get to dictate the life we want to lead. The treatments methods that I utilize are cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.

My focus

As a psychologist I work with women ages 18 and over. I specialize in working with women coping with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, and women's issues.

My communication style

As a licensed psychologist I believe the most important aspect for therapy to be successful is the trust that is created in therapy between therapist and client. It can be scary meeting a therapist for the first time and telling this person things that you may not have told another soul. This is where the establishment of trust comes to be important. You want to feel safe and be able to express yourself freely, knowing there is no judgment, just compassion and care. My biggest strength as a psychologist is providing that environment so you no longer have to internalize your emotions, but can say them out loud, and feel that it will be ok.

My journey to mental healthcare

I feel very lucky and fortunate to work as a psychologist. It is a career that I take such great enjoyment in because I get to be a part of an individuals journey to obtain the things that they want for themselves. I think for individuals seeking therapy, it is such an indication of their strength and bravery. To make such a proactive choice for change and recognizing that they want more, better, and that they matter.

My goals for you

I strongly believe that therapy should be a collaborative process. It is important for clients to be able to express the goals they want to set for themselves, and work together to have clients reach those objectives.

My first session with you

During the first session, clients should expect an opportunity to meet as well as express the reasons for seeking therapy at this time. It is a great time to be able to learn more about the client, what they are going through, what they have experienced, and what changes they would like to make. It is also a moment for the client to learn more about my approach and how the two of us can work together.
